Description

Last year, in my Foundation classroom, I printed a stack of Christmas booster books and felt a deep sense of guilt as I watched my students from culturally diverse backgrounds complete them. Yes, I had permission from parents... but still, I felt awful watching them quietly work, disengaged, uncomfortable, and unseen.

This year, I wanted different. I searched and searched, but I couldn’t find something that was truly grab, print, and go. Something I could offer all students so they could engage in the same activities - just without a theme that made the tasks feel excluding or disengaging.

So I made it.

Two separate books.

Identical in activity structure and learning outcomes.

One with a Christmas theme, and one… without.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not in favour of worksheets in the pre-schooling setting. And whilst these activities are certainly designed to be flexible and stand alone, they were created with my super-small-school, insane-multi-age teacher friends in mind. I see you. I get it. I lived it. When they're begging to do the fun stuff alongside their peers, how can you say no?

This pack includes:

  • 2 complete books of highly engaging activities that embed fine-motor skills and consolidate learning
  • 18 activities in each book (with every activity having a matching non-Christmas-themed partner!)
  • Engaging activities designed to foster critical and creative thinking
  • Clear, visual, at-a-glance instructions so students know exactly what they need for each activity
  • Activities designed to maximise independence, buying you back small but valuable pockets of time

If you’ve been…

  • Feeling guilty about asking culturally diverse students to engage in activities that conflict with their cultural backgrounds (even with parent permission)
  • Exhausted from answering endless “What do I do now?” questions as end-of-year routines change and students finish assessments and crafts at different times
  • Wanting independent activities that genuinely buy you short pockets of time
  • Looking for an end-of-year activity book suitable for multi-aged settings

…then this resource is made for you too. SDKers and school-setting Kindy providers: I see you. I see how much you carry and how hard you work to ensure your youngest learners are catered for and not an after though... which is why this booklet is free.

I hope you enjoy it, and your littlest learners love working alongside their older peers.
