Description
Are you looking for clear, inclusive visual reminders for your students when it comes to expectations for listening and learning in your classroom? Great teachers create neuroaffirming classrooms, inclusive and supportive of all the different ways student learn best. Whole Body Listening Classroom Posters will help you provide clear, realistic expectations for ALL your students.
Inclusive Whole Body Listening Classroom Posters are not your standard classroom rules posters. Having worked in both mainstream and special education settings I wanted to create a resource that would assist all your students, irrespective of their needs, in your classroom.
What is included in this resource.
This file contains 21 different posters and expands on the common five phrases used in classrooms that only suit neuro-typical students. Colour and B&W backgrounds have been included (if you need to save ink).
To promote an inclusive classroom environment I have expanded the collection to include the additional options most frequently added in my classroom when teaching students with special needs. This way you can pick and choose the posters which best suit your students.
The phrases which are included on the posters are:
1. Eyes are watching
2.Eyes are focusing ( kids with ASD may prefer to not make eye contact with the speaker)
3. Eyes are looking
4. Ears are listening
5. Brain is thinking
6. Mouth is quiet (some students need to have a chewie or need to stim. This reminds students to do so quietly if possible)
7. Body is calm - often sitting with legs crossed or sitting up straight is not an option. Body is calm is more inclusive.
8. Mind is ready - again focusing on mindset not what movements the body is doing eg student may need to rock to focus.
9. Feet are safe and quiet - for students who cannot keep their feet still.
10.Feet are still
11. Legs are crossed
12. Hands are quiet - for students who struggle to focus if their hands are still.
13. Hands have fidgets - for students who use sensory items to assist with listening.
14. Heart is caring - reminding students that they need to be respectful
15. Heart is valuing - reminding students to bring the right attitude to the listening task.
I like to laminate these so that they last for years to come however to be more eco-friendly print onto cardstock for greater durability.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Extremely Satisfied

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Extremely Satisfied
Loved all the great options. I used these every day at the beginning of the year. LOVE that you used the phrase "body is calm" instead to "folded hands" or something similar. For some kids, that just ain't happening! I was able to give expectations that I felt all could follow and understand.
