Are you looking for a new and engaging way to work on basic addition facts? Increase your students’ fluency with these mystery picture puzzles, a motivating and different way to provide practice adding numbers within 20. Three different types of sums are featured: result unknown, change unknown and start unknown.

These puzzles need no preparation, just copy and hand out. The students cut the picture pieces out and glue answers onto the correct question space. As each addition fact is matched with the correct answer, a picture begins to reveal itself. When all addition facts have been answered the student can see the complete picture. A great reward for their endeavour!

Perfect to use in small groups or individuals for math centres, rotations and even homework. Three different levels are available to cater for class differences or to use later in the year. Answers are included.
