Description

Add fun to Number Facts with DONKEY. There are 4 Sets:

Count Ons to TEN

Count Backs within TEN

Count Ons TEN to TWENTY

Count Backs TEN to TWENTY

All the number facts are included and there are extra DONKEY cards so you can split the packs, mix them and leave out any pairs for maximum flexibility.

This is my most popular game and students ask for it when it's 'game time'. It appeals to all ages and is super easy to learn. Just make sue the players say the number facts they are matching - this is the key to mastery over time.

I used to use the numbers 1 to 5 as count ons and count backs but, over time, I observed too many errors after 3. I reverted to limiting the strategy to enhance accuracy. It just meant that adding four or five had to have their own focus. I called them 'The Rest' and flogged them without a counting strategy and I think it was better. The jury is still out and I think it might depend on your cohort and their ability.

I have added the pretest I use from my NUMBER FACTS BOOK for COUNT ONS and COUNT BACKS. It includes worksheets, riddles and a post test and you can find it here.
