Overview

Description

With this collaborative sign, your students can help you create the perfect decoration promoting Japanese language learning for your classroom door or wall, bulletin board, hallway, library, or anywhere in the school.

This is a great activity for the start of school or or as a welcome for visiting international exchange students.

This sign is made of 30 pieces. Finished piece should measure roughly 100cm x 108cm.

I've included a few ideas of how to approach the design of your sign to suit your learners.

Students can work individually or in partners to decorate their piece. Then cut them out and assemble into the large sign! Use the layout guide to help you assemble. (Also handy as a sneaky grid activity!)

New addition: I've had some requests for a mini (A3) version that people can use on a small bulletin board. I've created a black and white version that you can colour yourself or some different coloured versions. If you've already downloaded before this update, please redownload (it's now a zip file instead of a plain pdf.)

Supplies you will need:

A4 paper for printing, markers or crayons, scissors, glue/tape, and a large piece of paper to attach all the pieces (optional - useful to create extra resilience, especially when used in a high traffic or blowy area).
