I teach adding 9 as adding 10 and taking one off. That's why I teach adding/subtracting 10 and adding/subtracting 9 consecutively. When students have mastered adding/subtracting 10, adding or subtracting 9 is easier. I have included a poster that targets this strategy.
BINGO adds fun to learning number facts. There are ten boards and 45 cards with all the number facts to 20. You will need nine small objects for players to claim their spaces as answers are called.
Repetition leads to learning when it is regular and motivating. Games do this easily.
