Differentiated Reading Comprehension Passages with Questions

This product includes 10 reading comprehension passages (a mix of fiction and non-fiction), each accompanied by targeted fluency and comprehension questions. The passages are presented in two differentiated versions, allowing for easy customization based on student needs.

• Version 1 is designed for students working at grade level. It includes 5 comprehension questions, requiring students to answer each in a complete sentence, promoting full-sentence responses and deeper understanding.
• Version 2 supports students working below grade level. In this version, students are guided to locate text evidence by highlighting or colouring the relevant part of the passage, with no sentence writing required. This approach builds confidence and emphasizes understanding through visual evidence.

How it works:

• Students will read each passage three times, marking their progress by colouring a star after each reading to track fluency.
• For Version 1, students read each question and respond by writing complete sentences.
• For Version 2, students highlight the sentence containing the answer in the text and then draw a picture to represent the information.
