Hard g/Soft g Game - STACK 4 - Targets Fluency & Spelling
Overview
Description
Learning the letter patterns that determine hard or soft 'g' will be easier the more students play this game. While there is a general rule, there are also exceptions and these can be a bit tricky. A game like this will provide the repetition that some students need but it will improve fluency for all abilities.
The Flash Cards will help with decoding correctly if students are required to sort them according to the sound they make. If you wish to focus on fluency I would suggest timing as my students love to beat their best time.
The words I have used are:
gave, page, grip, glad, give, gear, gem, bigger, magic, guess, flag, b ridge, rage, stage, edge, dodge, gentle, snug, germ, courage, giant, urge, merge, angle, angel, guard, grave, ginger, finger, garage, change, range, luggage, wriggle, baggage, giraffe, strange, anger, ranger, imagine, generous, gigantic, gorgeous, agony, danger, urgent, hostage, lodge, charge, engine
