Here's a title page to pop on your classroom books to celebrate Year of the Horse.

The artwork ties in to both of this years Collaborative Posters, so you can have a consistent theme across your materials, if you like.

It's in an editable PPT form, so you can choose to pre-fill or change the fields as needed. (Update includes a PDF version if you don't want to edit it yourself.)

•Simply edit the text box with whichever headings you need.

•Then, you can print as normal.

•I’ve provided some different versions with English, Romaji and Kana.

•I’ve also provided an alternate title page that has no romaji or English at all. (Other than the number for the year.)

The font used in the editable box is Keifont. (If you want to use the same one as displayed.)

My idea was that the students could either colour the background and leave the squares white to create a chequerboard/ichimatsu pattern. Or they could colour the squares to get the same effect.

Potentially, you could use the squares as a way of tracking a reward system or as a name-writing practice activity etc.
