Description
Looking for a fun resource to give your students hands-on, visual practice with subtraction? Here's a game they'll love!

WHAT'S INCLUDED
✅️ 1 full colour game board that can be laminated or put in a write & wipe sleeve for multiple use
✅️ 64 subtraction task cards, colour-coded by difficulty, including 16 'missing number' equations.
✅️ Instructions for game play
HOW TO USE
⭐️ Students play in pairs, with counters or unifix and their own laminated playing board. They start with a set number (e.g. 20) and roll a die to see how many to ‘jump’ or subtract into the pool. After each jump, they record the resulting number sentence in the blank boxes provided at the top of their board The first person to reach 0 wins - but players lose a turn if they roll a number higher than what is left (i.e. if they have 3 counters left but roll a 5).
⭐️ Students can use the game board individually along with the task cards. Students turn over the cards to choose a number sentence and move counters, unifix or MAB from the diving board into the pool to visually represent subtraction equations as they solve them. See the video preview for examples!
⭐️ Turn this into a co-operative partner activity, where students take turns choosing a task card and 'jumping' counters into the pool while the other writes the number sentence in the blank boxes.
⭐️ Great for a Maths warm-up exercise, fast finisher activity or any time you need a game to help teach subtraction.
