Description
In this activity, children develop their concepts of print by sorting letters, words, sentences and numbers. The pack includes sorting cards and a cut & paste worksheet to use as a record of learning. Choose regular print font, or your Australian state font.
An important part of a child's understanding of text organization is the ability to distinguish between letters, words, sentences and numbers. This knowledge affects both their reading and writing development. This hands on card sorting activity will assist your students to understand the differences between letters, words, sentences and numbers.
Use the cards as a whole class sorting task, or as a small group activity - simply print, laminate and cut to prepare the cards. It's perfect to use in a pocket chart! This resource will engage your learners and spark discussion - resource instructions include some questions you might like to use as prompts. A cut & paste worksheet is included to use as evidence of learning.
An editable page allows you to add your own letters, words, sentences and numbers if needed! Make sure to open with Adobe if you would like to change the font style and size.
