Description
In this activity, children build numbers 10-50 using base ten blocks. This hands on small group task helps children to demonstrate their knowledge of place value and composition of numbers!
Begin with cards clipped closed (using a clothes peg or paperclip) and the number displayed. Children build the number using blocks. A construction mat is provided as an option for this to provide a defined work area for those students who need it. The card is unclipped for children to check their answer by comparing it to the blocks shown on the card.
Choose the file that best suits your needs - all Australian state print options are included!
Easily differentiate this task by choosing the numbers you wish your children to construct. This activity can be made even more engaging for little learners with the addition of construction hard hats or tool belts from your dress up box! Place your base ten blocks in a toy tool box for extra fun.
