These reading logs are available in both black and white and coloured border designs. They are designed to encourage students to broaden their horizons when picking and reading books. Too often, students tend to go for the same type of story or series and are missing out on a great book they might never have given a chance otherwise. The goal is for students to read a variety of books and colour in a picture every time that type of character or item is mentioned in the book. The last few pages of this pack are for students to log the name of the book they read and the date they completed the book.

Below are some ideas for you on how you might like to use these reading logs.

You might like to set a goal to see how many pictures students can colour by the end of a specific point in the term.

You might like to give the students a goal number to colour in. For example, they must try to colour in at least 10 out of the 14 pictures.

You might like to print the reading logs back to font and create a booklet or print one for each term to keep things fresh and exciting for your students.
