Hello, I'm Kim.
I have over 20 years of teaching experience across K–6 primary classrooms, working with a wide range of learners and contexts. My background includes 5 years in Learning and Support and 2 years working specifically with High-Potential and Gifted Education students. These roles have shaped my belief that high-quality thinking tasks should be accessible, flexible, and meaningful for all learners — not just a select few. This experience informs every resource I create, ensuring tasks are both rigorous and inclusive. I believe students learn best when they are given meaningful challenges, opportunities to think deeply, and choice in how they engage and respond. I design learning experiences that encourage students to explore ideas, justify their thinking, and work at a level that stretches their understanding. High-Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) strategies are embedded in my practice because they allow students to find their own level of challenge, which is both motivating and engaging. I hold a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and have continued to develop my practice through experience in: Learning and Support, High-Potential and Gifted Education focused roles, Classroom Teaching, and Curriculum design and differentiation My professional learning has consistently centred on how students think, not just what they produce. MindStretch Learning was created to support teachers who want to extend learners without adding to workload. I strongly believe that High-Potential and Gifted Education principles and teaching strategies benefit all students when implemented thoughtfully. When learning is open-ended and flexible, students naturally find their level, build confidence, and engage more deeply. All MindStretch Learning resources are designed to work across curriculum areas, support differentiation, encourage deep thinking, and remain practical and classroom-ready My goal is to help teachers create learning experiences where every student has the opportunity to stretch their thinking and experience those powerful moments of understanding.
