Description
"Friends of Ten... they stick together because they're best friends...."
Here's a simple rainbow worksheet where students can practice writing their tens addition facts, with the Friends of 10 rainbow to guide them along the way!
Being able to recall tens facts helps children solve a range of mathematical equations with increasing automaticity. Providing students with a range of opportunities to practice these number bonds is an important stepping stone on the way to mathematical proficiency!
WHAT'S INCLUDED
✅️ 1 sheet with the middle number missing (1 + ___ = 10)
✅️ 1 sheet with the first number missing (___ + 9 = 10)
✅️ 1 sheet with both numbers missing (___ + ___ = 10)
HOW TO USE
⭐️ Students can use the rainbow to help them fill out the missing numbers. As they fill in the blanks, they will notice the patterns forming in each column - as the first number increases by 1, the second number will decrease by 1.
⭐️ Have students colour in the rainbow when they're finished - these make great displays!
⭐️ These could also be glued somewhere prominent in students' Maths books for them to refer back to.
⭐️ Why not print one copy in A3 to fill out together as a class and display in the classroom?
⭐️ Great for fast finishers, morning work and extra number bonds practice
