The 12 times table

  1. 1 × 12 = 12
  2. 2 × 12 = 24
  3. 3 × 12 = 36
  4. 4 × 12 = 48
  5. 5 × 12 = 60
  6. 6 × 12 = 72
  7. 7 × 12 = 84
  8. 8 × 12 = 96
  9. 9 × 12 = 108
  10. 10 × 12 = 120
  11. 11 × 12 = 132
  12. 12 × 12 = 144

Tip: Times 10, then add times 2: 12 × 7 is 70 + 14, which is 84.

Printable times tables worksheets in seconds

Pick the times tables your class is working on, choose the type of question and how many, and download an A4 PDF ready to print. Each sheet has a name, date and score line at the top, and an answer page for quick marking. Choose facts up to × 10 for Year 4, where the Australian Curriculum expects facts to 10 × 10, or up to × 12. Press New questions for a fresh sheet with the same settings, so every student or every day can have a different one.

Seven kinds of multiplication practice sheet

  • In order: 1 × 7 to 12 × 7, for learning a new table and spotting the pattern.
  • Mixed: the facts shuffled, in both orders (7 × 3 and 3 × 7), for recall practice and timed drills.
  • Missing numbers: 7 × ___ = 21, which makes students think about the fact rather than recite it.
  • Division facts: 21 ÷ 7 = ___, the related facts students need once they know a table.
  • Fill the grid: a times table grid with the rows and columns shuffled, so every fact appears once and skip counting along a row does not work. One table makes several short grids to fill the page.
  • Number wheels: the table in the middle, the multipliers around it, and the answers written in the outer ring. Six wheels to a page, each shuffled differently.
  • Colour by answer: every square of a picture holds a fact, and the key says which colour each answer gets. Finish the facts and a rocket, fish, flower or heart appears. The answer page shows the finished picture.

A different sheet for every student

Choose 30 different versions and the PDF has a sheet for every student, numbered Sheet 1 to Sheet 30, each with its own questions, and all the answer pages at the back. Students next to each other cannot copy, and you mark from the matching answer page.

Using times tables sheets in class

A short daily sheet works better than a long weekly one. Many teachers start with 20 questions on one table, move to 40 mixed questions once the table is secure, and use a 100-question sheet of all the tables as a term check. Keep the score from each sheet to see which facts each student still needs. For a reference to stick in books or on the wall, see the times tables chart.

Frequently asked questions

Are these times tables worksheets free?

Yes. Every sheet is free to make, print and photocopy for your class, with no sign-up and no limit on how many you make.

Can I make a worksheet for just one times table?

Yes. Tick one table, such as the 7 times table, and the sheet uses only that table. Tick several to mix them, or press All for a 1 to 12 sheet.

Why do some questions repeat?

One times table has only 12 facts (10 if you choose up to × 10), so a 40 or 100 question sheet of one table has to use each fact more than once. Every fact appears once before any repeats, and the same question never comes twice in a row. For no repeats at all, pick more tables or choose Fill the grid.

Does every sheet come with answers?

Yes. Leave "Add an answer page" ticked and the PDF has a second page with every answer filled in, in the same order as the questions.

How is this different from the times tables packs for sale?

This makes quick drill sheets. The packs made by Australian teachers add things a generator cannot, such as colour by number, mazes, word problems, warm-up routines and full sets for every table.

Which times tables should Year 3 and Year 4 learn?

In the Australian Curriculum (version 9), Year 3 students recall the multiplication facts for 3, 4, 5 and 10. By Year 4 they recall all facts up to 10 × 10 and the related division facts.
